Lucknow Super Giants lost the toss and were asked to bat first. They didn’t have a great start with the bat as skipper KL Rahul lost his wicket early. The opening batter was back in the power play and managed just 20 runs off 14 balls.

Rahul added a 53-run partnership with Quinton de Kock, who was going bonkers in the powerplay. Devdutt Padikkal, who came to bat at No.3, continued his torrid run with the bat and was back in the hut early as he managed just 6 runs off 11 balls.

De Kock (81) continued his carnage on the bowlers as he kept hitting bowlers all over the park. The keeper-batter oozed his class with the bat and made sure that he kept hitting bowlers despite wickets falling at the other end. Marcus Stonis (24) supported him well as the duo added 56 runs together.

Nicholas Pooran in the end brought out his brutal best with the bat in the end and made sure that he helped his team finish the innings on high. The vice-captain of the Lucknow Super Giants played a blinder and scored 40 runs off just 21 balls at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Based on his sensational effort with the bat, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) posted a total of 181 runs on the board. For Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Glenn Maxwell was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with the figures of 2/23. Apart from him, Reece Topley, Yash Dayal, and Mohammed Siraj picked one wicket each.

RCB vs LSG IPL 2024 Match 15 – Royal Challengers Bengaluru innings: Mayank Yadav breaks the backbone of RCB with his raw pace

Royal Challengers Bengaluru were off to a brutal start with the bat. Virat Kohli (22) and Faf du Plessis (19) played some crisp shots in the start. But failed to carry as Kohli fell in the 5th over before the captain got run out in the 6th over, thanks to the brilliance of Devdutt Padikkal on the field.

Mayank Yadav then rattled the middle order of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru middle order. He troubled Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green with the raw pace and removed both for them in quick succession of time. Rajat Patidar played a vital innings of 29 but after his wicket, RCB was left at 103/6.

Impact sub-Mahipal Lomror then changed the game for his team as hit some lusty blows in the end. He scored 33 runs off just 14 balls but failed to take his team home. Lucknow Super Giants bundled out Royal Challengers Bengaluru for 153 runs to win the game by 28 runs.

Mayank Yadav was introduced into the attack by KL Rahul for the sixth over and he made an instant impact. On his fourth ball, he sent back the dangerous Glenn Maxwell with a 151kph delivery. And in his second over, he clean-bowled Cameron Green with an absolute beauty.

The Australian star looked absolutely clueless as the ball went on to hit the stumps even before he could properly move. It was short of a good-length ball that nipped in a bit and the extreme pace saw Green play down the wrong line. Green’s feet did not even move and the ball went on to hit the top of the off stump.
